Women in Green Hydrogen (WIGH)

We actively encourage and support women to lead, build skills, and shape decisions across Africa’s green hydrogen transition.

WIGH connects you to community learning, professional pathways, and peer networks—aligned with our programmes and the wider flagship work of the network.

Mission and focus

Green hydrogen will scale faster and more fairly when women are represented in technical roles, project leadership, policy tables, and investment conversations. WIGH is our initiative to recruit, retain, and raise the profile of women in this sector—through targeted outreach, skills initiatives, and safe spaces to share experience.

We work alongside national partners, industry, and academia to reduce barriers to entry, support mid-career moves into hydrogen, and highlight women-led work in communities and in the field.

Get involved

  • Join WIGH meet-ups, webinars, and field visits announced through News & events and Network spotlights.
  • Request mentoring or speak on a WIGH session—contact the team with your background and interests.
  • Partner organisations can co-design workshops, bursaries, or outreach with us through the Partner hub.

Learning and pathways

WIGH signposts network programmes in outreach, capacity and skills, policy, networking, and pilots—entry points for training, secondments, and project exposure. We emphasise accessible learning (including introductory hydrogen literacy), peer exchange, and leadership development.

Whether you are starting out or moving into a specialist role, we can help you find the right programme anchor and people to talk to.
